Strategic Goals
The Colorado Springs Fire Department welcomes applicants representing the entire community to apply for positions with the department in support of one the City’s strategic goals: Cultivate, recruit, and retain high performing leaders, teams, and employees. CSFD is committed to developing a professional organization that represents the demographics of the customers served.
Programs
- Summer Heat Program, a week long day camp for girls between the ages of 15 to 19. The camp introduces and encourages these young women to consider sworn career opportunities in the fire service.
- City Human Resources staff attend the Colorado Springs Latino Community Luncheon to advertise employment opportunities with the department.
- Attendance at job and career fairs that focus on diverse populations.
- Presence at local community events, classroom instruction and special projects
- Explorer Post #1894, at 501-c3 non-profit organization that offers young adults real-life experiences, training and exposure to career opportunities available within the Fire Service.
