Robust traffic trends at the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) continue with October being one of the strongest traffic performance months this year. A total of 201,555 passengers traveled through the terminal, 100,830 of those passengers boarded a plane out of COS. COS has seen nearly 1.8 million travelers so far this year.

For the month of October, overall traffic was up 3.8 percent from 2021, on 4.4 percent fewer seats, resulting in an 83.6 percent load factor for all five airlines – a six percent increase from the same time last year. Compared to the pre-pandemic 2019 benchmark, enplanements were up 26.2 percent on a 28.3 percent seat increase.

“October had outstanding traffic performance at COS. We are seeing increased traffic and load factor performance, and we expect that momentum to continue going forward,” said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation at the Colorado Springs Airport.

As the traffic momentum increases, travelers will be able to take advantage of the COS annual holiday parking promotion this month and next. Long-term parking will be $4 per day beginning November 21, 2022, through November 27, 2022, and December 21, 2022, through January 2, 2023.

Travelers will also benefit from additional service this holiday season. Southwest Airlines will be providing nonstop seasonal service to Houston (HOU), San Antonio (SAT), and San Diego (SAN) for select November, December, and January dates.

COS will also offer new service in summer of 2023 with Delta Air Lines’ resumption of nonstop Atlanta (ATL) service and a new carrier, Sun Country Airlines, will begin nonstop service to Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP).
