In September, a total 199,735 passengers traveled through the Colorado Springs Airport (COS), marking an 8.3 percent decrease from the same period last year. However, year-to-date, there has been a significant 9.6 percent increase compared to 2023.

Enplanements for the month totaled 100,746, indicating a 7.8 percent decrease with a 7 percent reduction in seats compared to the same period the following year. Despite the decrease in seats and enplanements for September, year-to-date enplanements are tracking strong at 9.3 percent over last year, and seats are up by 9.6 percent. The average load factor for September was 79.6 percent, slightly lower than last September by 0.7 percent.

It's important to note that September and October are considered slower travel months, falling within the shoulder season for travel and occurring just before the holiday travel period.

Looking ahead, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will be offering seasonal service to San Diego (SAN) and San Antonio (SAT) for the holiday months. These flights will operate on peak days in November, December, and January.

Travelers are encouraged to plan holiday and spring trips, as most airlines have already released their spring schedules. There are numerous flight options when looking ahead at holiday travel, including an easy way to the Nation’s capital, Southwest’s Baltimore/Washington (BWI) flight.
