Panorama Park, the 13.5-acre park located in Southeast Colorado Springs is one of 13 projects in the state to receive a 2024 Colorado Lottery Starburst Award and is now eligible to receive voting for a Peoples Choice Award. The Colorado Lottery announced that voting is now open for the Peoples Choice Award that highlights the best outdoor projects funded by the Colorado Lottery. Voting opens Saturday, June 15 and closes Monday, July 15.

The Colorado Lottery Starburst Award recognizes excellence in the utilization of Lottery funds for community and conservation projects. Winners are selected based on various criteria, including project creativity, economic and social impact on the community, and broader implications for our state. Lottery proceeds are distributed through grants via Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and other community organizations, fostering the development of a variety of projects around the state of Colorado.

Panorama Park, a shining example of community resilience, advocacy, and leadership, underwent a transformative redesign in 2022. The park's expansion and enhancement were aimed at promoting recreational equity and wellness for the residents of the area. With collaborative planning involving RISE|Southeast and Trust for Public Land (TPL) and funding from multiple sources including the Trails, Open Space and Parks (TOPS) program, AARP Colorado, El Pomar Foundation, Lyda Hill Philanthropies and a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), Panorama Park became the largest neighborhood park renovation in Colorado Springs history.
