The City of Colorado Springs is inviting the public to give feedback on a draft of the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive document that outlines Mayor Yemi’s vision for the City’s long-term goals and priorities for the next four-years, as well as the strategies and actions needed to achieve them.

On the City’s website, there is a survey and interactive ideas wall where residents can review aspects of the strategic plan and provide comments. Residents are also invited to attend either the in-person or virtual public meeting on June 11, where the Strategic Plan will be presented with the opportunity for the public to provide comments. The in-person meeting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at Carmel Community School (1740 Pepperwood Dr). The virtual meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Residents can find more information on how to join the public meetings and use the online survey at ColoradoSprings.Gov/2024StrategicPlan.

“A city's strategic plan is a shared vision for the entire community,” said City Strategic Plan Manager Courtney Brown. “It is a blueprint that guides the city's future so it can thrive in ways that resonate with its residents. But to develop a plan that truly reflects the Colorado Springs community, we need to hear from residents. The strategic plan is already informed by several other community meetings, but this is another chance for residents to provide their voice before the plan is finalized.”

Required by the City Charter, the Strategic Plan is designed to prioritize mission-critical activities and outline a clear path for aligning the City’s budget with five specific priorities — public safety, economic vitality, infrastructure, housing solutions and community activation. This draft plan has been informed by community input through Listening Tours and Solutions Team recommendations in 2023-24. The strategic plan will also help inform the City’s annual Strategic Doing Framework, which prioritizes the City’s yearly goals.
