The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) welcomed daily nonstop service from Southwest Airlines to Baltimore/Washington (BWI) today. With this new service, Colorado Springs leisure, business, and government travelers will have nonstop access to the Washington, D.C. area and allow visitors from the East Coast to experience all Colorado Springs has to offer.
"Southwest Airlines has been a key carrier and community partner in Colorado Springs since its services began in March 2021. The airline has supported the Colorado Springs community, and just as importantly, the community has supported the routes Southwest has brought to our airport,” said Director of Aviation, Greg Phillips. “This new service grants convenient access to the Washington D.C. area to local travelers whether they are heading to the Capital for business or pleasure.”
Southwest also recently announced it would offer seasonal service on peak days to San Diego (SAN) and San Antonio (SAT) on peak travel days in November, December, and January.
Currently, Southwest Airlines serves a total of six other nonstop destinations in addition to BWI: Chicago (MDW), Dallas (DAL), Denver (DEN), Houston (HOU), Las Vegas (LAS), and Phoenix (PHX). The airline also offers seasonal service to San Antonio (SAT) and San Diego (SAN) for select November, December and January dates and nonstop service to Long Beach (LGB) through August 4, along with easy connections across the U.S. and international destinations.
With the addition of BWI, Southwest will offer up to 16 daily departures from Colorado Springs in July.
