The City of Colorado Springs launched a Military Welcome website, a central hub where servicemembers, veterans and their families can connect with local small businesses who offer military discounts on products and services. Military personnel can easily find participating businesses on an interactive map at ColoradoSprings.gov/MilitaryWelcome.
The new website provides a valuable resource for the military community while driving traffic to participating businesses. By showcasing Colorado Springs small businesses, servicemembers are encouraged to shop locally, helping to bolster the City's economic strength. Colorado Springs is home to more than 45,000 active-duty troops--representing every branch of the military-- and nearly 100,000 veterans and their families.
"We are excited to launch this new website as a resource for our military community," said Small Business Development Administrator Shakanah Tedder. "We are committed to making Colorado Springs a welcoming and supportive community for all military members and their families while helping foster economic growth for our local businesses."
Businesses interested in participating can register online to show their support for service members and their families while gaining valuable exposure. Once enrolled, businesses will receive a Military Welcome email and display decal, showing their commitment to honoring our military community.
