The new Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center is now open! Visitors will see final construction work taking place and finishing touches being made to the interpretive exhibits and signs through September 2021. While this work is underway, summit access cannot be guaranteed due to extremely limited parking on the summit. Visitors should anticipate making it as far as mile 16 of the 19-mile highway. This area is known as Devils Playground. During this time, summit access will be first come, first served. Call 719-385-7325 for current highway conditions. As always, access is weather permitting. Sorry, no refunds.
At this time, masks are strongly encouraged in all indoor facilities on the mountain, regardless of vaccination status.
From Sept. 14-16, summit visitors can expect a delayed opening while crews prepare to pave the new summit parking lot. Vehicles heading to the summit will be held at Devils Playground until 9 a.m. each of these days.
The summit will be closed to visitors Sept. 21-22 while the new parking lot is paved. Weather pending, highway visitors will be able to travel as far as Devils Playground
