Official Rules

This sweepstakes is governed by these Official Rules. By participating in the sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules and understands that the results of the sweepstakes, as determined by the City of Colorado Springs (the “City”), are final in all respects. Only one entrant will be chosen at random by the City. The sweepstakes is subject to all local, state and federal laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

Eligibility & Period: The sweepstakes is open to residents of Colorado Springs, Colorado, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. To enter the sweepstakes and be eligible to win, an individual must register to host a gathering, host a gathering and complete the post-event gathering survey for the 1000 Neighborhood Gatherings Initiative. City employees, agents and representatives are not eligible. The City has the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant. This sweepstakes starts May 18, 2024 and ends October 15, 2024. All entries must be received on or before the deadline.

Consumer Disclosure

This sweepstakes is sponsored by the City Communications Department, located at 30 S. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903. No winner has been chosen. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. The estimated odds of receiving the prize is one (1) out of the total number of eligible submissions received. The deadline for submission of an entry is October 15, 2024.

Prize: One gift card valued at $100.00 

Terms and conditions may apply. Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a prize in this disclosure and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, receipt and use of all or any portion of the awarded prize are solely the responsibility of the respective prize winner. All local, state and federal taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize is solely the responsibility of the winner. 

Limitations: No substitution or cash equivalent of the prize is permitted. The City reserves the right to terminate, suspend or amend the sweepstakes, without notice, and for any reason, including, without limitation, if the City determines that the sweepstakes cannot be conducted as planned or should any cause beyond the City’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the sweepstakes. In the event any tampering or unauthorized intervention may have occurred, the City reserves the right to void suspect entries at issue. The City is not responsible for any errors, including but not limited to, errors in the offer or administration of the sweepstakes, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, any technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or software.

Release, Indemnification and Immunity: The City does not make any warranties, express or implied, as to the condition, fitness or merchantability of the prize. The City disclaims any liability for any damage resulting from any participation in the sweepstakes. Each entrant hereby releases the City, their officers, City Council, employees, agents and representatives from any and all claims and liability related to the entrant’s participation in the sweepstakes. By entering the sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to fully protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless the City, their officers, City Council, employees, agents and representatives from and against any and all claims, costs, losses, damages, causes of action, or liability of any nature to the extent caused by the willful misconduct or negligent, reckless or tortious acts or omissions of the entrant or anyone for whose acts the entrant may be liable. Nothing in this disclosure shall be interpreted to limit or prevent the protections afforded to the City under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, C.R.S. § 24-10-101, et seq.
