Implementation
Our City's Urban Forest
Colorado Springs' urban forest — trees along streets, in parks, open spaces, backyards, and across the City — provide many benefits to the City's residents, the environment, and the economy. Urban trees and forests are considered integral to the sustainability of cities as a whole. Yet, sustainable urban forests are not born, they are made. They do not arise at random but result from a community-wide commitment to their creation and management. Urban forests are valuable assets that, if properly managed, will continue to add to the health of the community for generations to come. A thriving and vibrant urban forest cannot be attained without input and support from the community.
