The City of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers to serve on the Lodgers and Automobile Rental Tax (LART) Citizens’ Advisory Committee. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Mondy, June 19. The application web form can be found and submitted at ColoradoSprings.gov/boards. 

The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will welcome two new routes with Delta Air Lines. Delta now runs daily nonstop service to Atlanta (ATL) and daily nonstop service to Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP).

City officials, along with users and staff of the current Colorado Springs Senior Center, bid the old facility farewell Friday and viewed a video and renderings of the new Senior Center. Construction on the new building is scheduled to start in August and take 18-24 months.The City used $8 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the project.

Colorado Springs mayor-elect Yemi Mobolade released his “First 100 Days” blueprint, outlining his immediate priorities and actions when he starts his term as mayor June 6. 

The Mt. Cutler Trailhead parking lot, located on North Cheyenne Canyon Road is open following the expansion and paving of the former gravel lot. Improvements include asphalt paving in addition to adding curb and gutter, signage, and defined parking spaces. 

Yemi Mobolade will take the oath of office and become Colorado Springs’ 42nd mayor on Tuesday, June 6 at 10 a.m. on the south side of the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, 215 S. Tejon Street. The event is free and open to the public and will be broadcast live on the City’s Facebook page @CityofCOS.
