Environmental Process
August 25, 2015
Nearly 90 people attended the Pikes Peak Summit Complex Environmental Assessment (EA) Scoping Meeting and Open House held Aug. 25, 2015, at Pikes Peak Library 21C in Colorado Springs. The meeting was organized in an open house format. Attendees viewed display boards that provided background information on the project, opportunities for input on potential environmental and cultural impacts and for identifying key issues to be analyzed in the EA, as well as opportunities to provide the design team a vision for shaping the Summit Complex visitor experience. Dovetailing with the EA Scoping process, the design team is seeking public input through a series of online surveys and public meetings to help create a summit experience for all to enjoy for decades to come.

As the U.S. Forest Service worked to complete the Environmental Assessment process for the new Pikes Peak Summit Complex, the project design team is continued with refinements to the interpretive displays for inside and outside the new visitor center structure. In addition, Benefactor Group, the fundraising consultants, have completed the Capital Fundraising Campaign Feasibility Study for the project.
Public Surveys
Your Summit Experience: You told us your thoughts to help shape the visitor experience of the new Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center. The survey looked to gather input on the design of the facilities only and was a separate public input process from the EA. For EA information see below.
